New Chapter for the Smith Family

Well now that my bosses know I guess I can share with the blogging world that we will be moving back to Mississippi at the end of the summer. Specific time still not determined due to the sale of house. We have already purchased a new home in Summit, MS (Danny's hometown Mccomb, MS) and should close at the end of this month. The home we purchased is a 1930s cottage and needs some touching up and a dash of renovating. After some refinished floors, new paint, and new fixtures it should be a darling house. To bring a bit of Mobile with me we will be painting the front door red like the many cottages that fill Midtown! A piece of my heart will always remain in Mobile. If I get my way one day I will own a second vacation property back down here. My husband's worklife should become a little more enjoyable as he assumes the position at the family store (www.lottmccomb.com). And if Daddy is happy everybody is happy!
Mccomb seems to be finally gaining some economic development and being a part of that should be exciting and rewarding. It really has some great potential.

When we first return around September I will not be working until Carsyn and I get settled. Luckily there is a garage apartment that I hope to turn into a photography studio to do my portraits. Of course getting the word out when I will know noone will be challenging! Possibly in the new year I will consider joining the working world again. After spending 5 days straight with Carsyn last week I have learned that being a stay at home mom is MUCH more difficult than working! Work is a vacation! What is ironic is that Carsyn will be the same age as her daddy when he and his parents moved to Mccomb and we will be living in the exact neighborhood that he did. I figured out that Carsyn and Jamie Lynn Spears daughter will be in the same grade at Parklane Academy- won't that be a thrill! HA HA!


Im sure that I will post renovation pictures when we begin in July.

Carsyn's week

This has been an interesting week for Miss Carsyn. Definitely not her routine.
Her sleep has been quite sporadic- 10 hr sleep here, 3 hr sleep there, cat naps for 30 min at a time- nothing consistent.

I think our beloved bouncy seat might be on its way out- she will still sit in it, but she REALLY wants to sit up and it just isnt cutting it anymore. We have our bumbo (see picture from last post), but Carsyn's thunder thighs barely fit! Carsyn wants to move so badly she can taste it!!! I think she is going to bypass the whole crawling stage and go straight to walking- maybe runnung! She loves to stand!

We had our first booboo this week. Mommy's fault. Long story short, she bent down to look at a water fountain and her head touched a hot screw for a milli-second and well you can see the pixture for yourself! talk about mommy-guilt!!!!

I also took a pic of Carsyn and her beloved babysitter Courtney. We LOVE Courtney! She rocks!! When I came in yesterday, Courtney said they had been playing dress up! It was too cute to resist a picture!

Carsyn 5months

We are gearing up to be out of town a lot in the next couple of months. Summer is always sooo busy! Last weekend we went to Mississippi for Mother's Day but made it a day trip. Trying to get Carsyn to sleep out of town is an even bigger hassle than getting her to sleep at home. This weekend we get to stay here, Thank Goodness.
I will be taking beach portraits of some friend's children so my mom is coming to town to help watch Carsyn. Nonny will be out of school for the summer soon and will be visiting more often, I presume! I can't wait to let her get up with Carsyn on Sunday morning so I can have some extra sleep.

For my mother's day present Carsyn slept a straight 8 hr stretch (first time ever for that long!) But then the remainder of the week she woke up at 5ish every day! UGH! Also she has gotten to where she flips over in her crib and can't flip back and it wakes her up. If ain't one thing with a baby, its another! Maybe she will sleep by the time she is 10?!

In other Carsyn news- she has now really grown attached to Trey(family poodle) and loves to watch him fetch his toys. She thinks it is HILARIOUS! She laughs non-stop to where she can't breath!

Only 6 more hrs until the weekend! TGIF!

Things Carsyn loves

Didnt I just write a post about Carsyn turning 4 months old and going to the doctor and now this weekend she will be 5 months old!!!!! Where did April go?! It came and vanished!

Carsyn loves the outside! She will definitely be an outdoors type of girl, I think! If she is fussing you can open the door and it will usually calm her-atleast for a bit anyway! She just laughes when the wind makes the leaves on the trees blow! Makes you appreciate the simple pleasures in life God gave us!

Carsyn also loves to swing on the front porch swing. I think she could stay there all day! She and her Daddy spend their mornings there!

Carsyn loves FOOD! She loves her baby food and has not turned her nose up at a single fruit or veggie! I kind of had a feeling since neither of her parents are picky about food choices. She still eats every 3 hours even with an increase in oz of formula?! Funny story- I was eating oatmeal a recent morning and she kept watching the bowl and then when I put it in my mouth and back to bowl and mouth and kept opening her mouth as if she wanted some! HA HA! And when I took a drink from my glass of water she would open her mouth for a swallow! HA HA! Guess it wont be long until she is eating tablefood. As soon as those teefies come in!

Carsyn loves her exersaucer(sp?). When we first put her in it- her feet barely touched but within a weekend she grew and now she loves to sit in it.

Carsyn loves mirrors. She will find a mirror in an instant and stare into it!

Carsyn loves cellphones! She's got a few years yet until she gets her own but she loves to stare at my Blackberry and when a relative calls she will turn her head to the speaker and stare intently trying to figure out where the voices are coming from!

Carsyn loves sitting in her bouncy seat while her mama or daddy gets dressed in the morning. I LOVE THE BOUNCY SEAT! BEST purchase we had for her arrival! She sits in it everywhere! Luckily she doesnt try to roll out of it. I hate to see the day here soon when she wont sit still in it for very long anymore!

Strangley, Carsyn has just now started paying attention to Trey (family poodle) and pets him when he comes up to her? Im not sure why it took this long to notice him? He is in my lap with her all the time?!

Even though some say it is a "no no" my baby LOVES the television! LOVES IT! Im sure it is just the colors but she was cracking up the other day!


Oh to be a baby- watch tv, eat all day while people serve you, laugh at the simplest of pleasures, have someone at your beck and call! :)
